Model 6200 XHD - Extra heavy duty cap and rod grinder
The Delta 6200 XHD is the perfect machine for those individuals who require a high precision grinder. The machine produces a flat mating surface and is quickly adjustable to the original mating surfaces.
The setup is very quick. Place the magnetic straight edge on the table face, then place cap or rod against surface and tighten down. The stone can be dressed before and / or during the grinding operation as required. The diamond dresser is mounted on the side of the actual work table. This same operation can be used on overhead Cam caps.
This grinder will do caps measuring up to 4" in height and up to 17" in length. The work table is 12" square. Readily grinds ends of caps after welding for better fit in block. Stone angle adjusts in seconds for quick set-up. No shimming is required.
Grinds 12-V-149 DDA, 398 CAT, 12 & 16 KV Cummins in less than five minutes.
Operates dust free with built-in vacuum system.

This grinder will do caps measuring up to 3" in height and up to 9" in length. The work table is 8" square. Readily grinds ends of caps after welding for better fit in block. The stone will tilt for that extra fine tuning by adjusting a knob at the back of the motor.
The fitting of caps sideways to the block can be accomplished by installing a ½" key in the groove of the table and grinding the side of cap 90 degrees to the face.

All side and end ports are sealed quickly and effectively with universal closure devices unique cradle lifting system for applying plenty of sealing pressure fully adjustable jack posts accommodate all shapes of cylinder heads, wedge, parallel and overhead cam. Can easily compensate for thickness differences.
Jack post are fully adjustable to accommodate all shapes of cylinder heads, wedge, parallel and overhead cam. Heads are measured outside of the frame and the jack posts can be pre-set easily in the frame to accept any automotive or diesel head up to 7- 1/8" thick, with our cylinder head thickness gauge. It can also be adjusted to compensate for heads that are not always parallel. The jack post support heads either through head bolt holes on V-6 and V-8's, or with parallel bars for parallel heads and overhead cam heads with cam towers with bars length ways and diesel heads with bars crossways
Small pieces of neoprene are are placed over water holes to cover any variations of size and shape of holes. Then enclosure bars of different widths and lengths are placed on neoprene pads. Strong back cross bars slide horizontally within the frame compressing neoprene enclosure pads evenly when cam-lever is pulled, providing for solid clamping without further adjustments.
Both ends and both sides can be closed off at the same time using J-brackets hanging from side bars and sliding top bars. Water or air enclosures may be placed on ends, sides or surface with this method of pressure testing. This method allows you to test with air to 60 lbs or water to 100 lbs without leaking. A standard accessory storage cart will be provided to store all the parts.
